More about Vee's Life...
Vee Maurice, from Nashville, TN, began his study of guitar at
the age of eight. He left home 10 years later to make his
living traveling the United States, Canada, and Australia playing
Contemporary, R&B, Modern, Indie, Rock, and Classical Music.
Between his time spent performing with various artists and bands,
Bishop taught guitar and attended University classes on a full
music scholarship. While living in St. Louis Vee became a serious
student at the University of Missouri intent on his bachelor's
degree in Classical Music. His most influential instructor was Alan
Rosenkoetter (the Paris Conservatory graduate, guitarist and head
of guitar at the University of Missouri in St. Louis and Washington
University). Bishop recieved his degree in 2003 with honors along
with a virtuoso classical guitar as a gift from the University of
Missouri in St. Louis and the Buder Foundation. During several
points in his adult years, Bishop lived in Nashville, TN and
developed meaningful and important relationships with
like-minded musician friends there. Soon after his graduation
form the University of Missouri, he returned to Nashville to play
with new artists with Sony, RCA, and Arista Records. In early 2006
the opportunity arose to write and record "Presence", a collections
of 12 of his original songs (with hidden vocal track). Bishop
declares his carefully composed soft intrumentals as "a musical
diary" (songs that came to him spontaneously as expressions of his
personal journey). Each song played through the discipline of
classical guitar, is a contemporary inspiration of peacefulness
that envokes serenity, strength, and hope. Listeners have expressed
"each song universally touches the human heart with melodies and
rhythms that bring to surface universal connection at the calmness
it provides". The album was co-produced with Mike O'Neil at
Serenity Hill Studio. |
